Intrigued by storytelling and connecting with people, Barbara “Roxie” De Laleu uses her platform and powerful voice to inspire others. She founded a non-profit, Self-I-See, which focuses on language positivity, strengthening self awareness, and fostering cultural pride in the classroom. She also co-founded the #NoDisrespectCampaign, an initiative that focuses on self respect and respect for others in and out of the classroom. Her community involvement throughout NYC has garnered her recognition and opened doors to new opportunities where she can continue to put her voice to good use.
With two Master’s degrees from New School University under her belt, Roxie is currently pursuing a PhD in Instructional Leadership at St. John’s University. Her goal is to expand on educating global entrepreneurship in the areas of media, cultural responsiveness and engagement, and curriculum development.
Tracey Baker-Simmons is a seasoned television and film producer who is passionate about authentic storytelling and whose critically acclaimed content has been featured on TLC, Lifetime, Oxygen, WeTV, VH1, Bravo, and many other networks. She has produced national commercials, music videos, and the pop-culture phenomenon, Being Bobby Brown, a TV series starring Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston.
Tracey’s proven creativity and talent as a visionary producer have earned her many accolades, including record-breaking ratings for MTV2’s Sprite Step Off and an Emmy nomination for her Platinum House series, featuring Dru Hill and Keith Sweat.
Tracey currently lives in New York and works under her own production company, Baker Simmons Media.
